Good News....

The construction of the HAMNET Gauteng Storage facility is underway. The storage will be situated on the small holding of OM Chris ZS6COG (Moi... Me... Ekke)

Shown below are some pictures of worker Lucas  (right hand man and trusty worker of note) busy treating wooden poles which will be used for the construction.

The space occupied by the store will be 9 meters x 8 meters. Roof height will be 2.6 metres at the back and 3,7 meters at the front. This will allow easy storage of the HAMNET Gauteng South Trailer. Also included under the roof will be the storage bin. A postform top and shelves will be included after re finishing and paining is done.  More pictures in the weeks to come. Stay posted.. ZS6ERB Club 675 hosts 76th AGM

Saturday 31 August 2013 saw the hosting of the 76th Annual General Meeting of the East Rand Branch of the South Africa Radio League.

Affectionally known as ERB or Club 675 this little club has had its ups and downs. Happily I can report that we are heading up again.

Decisions taken at the AGM include the registration of ERB as an NPO, building ournew clubhouse, expanding the committee and getting down to playing some serious radio.

We really want to engage our neighbours more this year as our sister club KARTS in Kempton are kicking ass and they are doing some serious activities. They are inspiring and we will try and equal them this year. Go KARTS!! Come on ERB... let go for it!!

Below are some PICS of HAMS seen at the AGM.

Radio Museum News

Donations coming in steadily

Hi All

Thanks to the radio amateurs that are donating radios to the Ditsong National War Meseum.

We received another two artefacts this week which will be delivered to the museum. ONe of these is a bona fide russian radio to boot. Cool.

If you want to donate your russian wartime radio, take it directly to the museum where you will do some paper work for the official handover. Also remember that you do not have to donate, you can loan the radio too.
