Radio Museum gets a cool design!

Radio Museum at Ditsong

Display Design Completed

The Ditsong National Museum on War History is adding a radio exhibit to it's display.
You can see the design rendering of the space where the radios and history will be displayed in.
Amateur Radio will also find it's place in this space with a fully functional radio station operating on ZS6NOM to be established on the display floor. Radio amateurs will be invited to operate from here and QSL cards will be exchanged.
The space will be interactive and will showcase radio to the youth with an interactive display and kids will be able to learn more about radio and amateur radio as a hobby and means of communication.

The project involves the role played by radio in the freedom struggle. It will feature radios and stories related to the apartheid era and will host military radios.

We are still looking for military style radios and specifically radios from Russian origin. If you can donate or loan equipment to the museum, please come in contact with myself or take your items directly to the museum in Johannesburg, behind the Johannesburg ZOO.

My e-mail is zs6cog@gmail.com.

A special thanks to the Convergence Partner Team and the DOC, Patrick Msomi who is spearheading this endeavor.
